PORCELAIN VENEERS – DURAthin Veneers

DURAthin Veneers are very thin, porcelain restorations that are custom made to adhere directly to the front of the teeth without removing any of the natural tooth structure.  It is a revolutionary technique that’s changing the way dentists think about cosmetic Dentistry through little or no tooth reduction.

Who is a candidate for DURAthin veneers?  Generally speaking, adults who have small teeth or spaces between their teeth, people with composite bonding that are looking to achieve a more durable and stable restoration, and people that grind their teeth causing them to look chipped, worn or have very short teeth are excellent candidates for this procedure.

TRADITIONAL DENTAL VENEERS

Dental veneers, are thin shells that are laid onto the teeth and bonded to the surface.  Although they can be made of different materials, porcelain is frequently used because of its durability and realistic appearance.  Porcelain veneers are designed to lay over the front of the teeth with minimal removal of the tooth structure.  Patients with severe crowding (Instant orthodontics), with dark staining (from tetracycline) or with a vertical deficient bite are candidates for this procedure.

BONDING

Dental Bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored resin material is applied to the natural tooth and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth to restore or improve a person’s smile.  This technique can be used to repair decayed teeth, repair chipped or cracked teeth, improve discoloration of teeth, close spaces, make teeth look longer, change the shape of the teeth, protect a portion of the tooth’s Roth that has been exposed when the gums recede.  This is a great procedure for many dental situations.
